Many of us take for granted the opportunity to enjoy a variety of cuisines at restaurants across the region. However, there are many households where that exposure is not possible. The children at CHOR have requested the chance to immerse themselves in new cultures through this experiential program and learn more about the world around them.
Beginning in January 2022, the Exploration Eats Project, allows our Residential Program and Evening Reporting Center to switch up their regular National School Lunch menu once a month to explore world cultures through new foods. Exploration Eats expands cultural awareness to enrich the lives of the children and the communities we serve, through culturally diverse menus that open discussions around tolerance, kindness, responsibility, and gratitude. With continued support we hope to continue to grow “Exploration Eats” and expand its reach to our two schools, additional residential locations, and community programs.
